Four things people mix up
Equipment projects often come with talk of promotions, rebates, payment plans and warranties. The words get used as if they meant the same thing. They do not. Each one has its own source, its own conditions and its own paperwork.
The table below is the short version. Each topic has its own page with the full detail.
| Topic | Who provides it | The question it answers | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offers | Kelvin Mechanical, sometimes together with a financing or equipment provider | Is there a limited-time promotion on this job? | Provider approval, written terms, start and expiry dates |
| Ontario rebates | The Home Renovation Savings program, run by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas with support from the Ontario government | Can part of the equipment cost be recovered? | Program rules, qualifying equipment, your property and funding available at the time |
| Financing, lease-to-own and rental | Third-party finance, leasing and rental providers | How do I pay for the equipment over time? | Provider approval, the provider's terms and the equipment selected |
| Warranties | The manufacturer, the installer, or a separate plan provider | What happens if something fails later? | The equipment, registration, installation and the protection option chosen |
What each one means for your project
Offers. A promotion is only worth anything if you can see who stands behind it, who qualifies, what the terms are and when it ends. Our offers page is set up so every promotion appears with those details, or does not appear at all.
Ontario rebates. A rebate is not a discount from Kelvin Mechanical. It comes from a program, and the program decides who qualifies and how much. The rebates page explains how Home Renovation Savings works and what we ask in an eligibility check.
Financing, lease-to-own and rental. These are three ways to spread the cost of equipment, and they differ on who you pay and who owns the equipment. The financing and warranties page puts them side by side.
Warranties. A manufacturer warranty, a labour warranty and an extended warranty protect different things for different periods. They are also covered on the financing and warranties page.
How the pieces fit on one project
A typical project runs in this order. You describe the job, and we review the site. The quote then sets out the equipment, the scope of work and the warranty options. From there, three separate decisions may come up: whether a rebate could apply, whether you want a payment plan, and whether any promotion is running for your equipment.
Each of those has its own approval. A rebate decision does not change a finance approval, and a promotion does not change a warranty. If you want to see where your project lands, start with Build My Quote and tell us what you are considering.
Our rule for every number and promise
- No offer is shown without its provider, eligibility, terms and expiry date.
- Rebate wording is Ontario-only and always tied to program rules, equipment and funding.
- Financing details come from the provider. We do not publish rates or payment amounts on this site.
- Warranty coverage is described by what each type covers, never as a blanket promise.
- Nothing on these pages is a quote. Pricing varies with equipment, venting, ductwork, installation complexity and warranty options, and a quote follows a site review.
Our Ontario rebate wording: eligible Ontario customers may qualify for up to $7,500 depending on the program rules, equipment, property and funding available at the time. Homes heated with natural gas have a lower cap under the program rules. Eligibility, amounts and the contractor list are set by the Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program, not by Kelvin Mechanical; confirm current rules on the program site.
